Default Question for those that left Ford Credit early?

We were told that we had to stay with them for 3 months. Found out that isn't true. When you called Ford Credit for payoff information for your refi, did they hassle you in any way? My credit union is at 2.9%. Thanks folks..

Financed both my 13 truck and wife's 14 Escape thru Navy Federal CU so I can't answer your question but to say DEMAND a pay off amount and then have NFCU issue a check in that amount.

That is if you have NFCU, I kind of figured you might from your signature.

Nope. I paid Ford off couple weeks after I bought the truck via my credit union. No issues.

Read the note (fine print). I think ours has verbiage that they can charge a $75 acquisition fee if you pay the loan off in the first six months (recent purchase on 2013 Taurus).

I recently purchased a 2013 FX2 and financed through Ford to get an additional $1000 rebate. I refinanced a week later through my CU @ 2.09%. No penalty and even got a check back from Ford for $27! I got the same line from the dealer about waiting 3 months to refi.

I paid off early when my first payment was due and received a small refund also.

READ YOUR CONTRACT! It states the loan can be paid off at any time without penalty.

where are you reading this "fine print" about a $75 fee?

It could potentially be different for every state/country you live in. Ford Credit (like any other bank) is going to take every advantage they can given the jurisdiction they're working in.

I made one payment to Ford Credit and then refinanced with USAA at 2.25%. Ford Credit didn't give me any heartache over it.

The dealer ASKED us to go 3 months. I don't see interest rates going anywhere but up, so I went ahead and refinanced early.

The dealer I bought mine through said that in order to get the credit from ford financing it needs to have three months (90 days) with them. if you refi before that then the dealer has to pay them that money.
