Default Pricing question

Thought I would ask other owners about pricing on a leftover 2018 before I go any further with looking at these trucks.
This is my first truck purchase and it seems like a great deal but not sure what I should be looking for with a leftover previous year model.
It's a 2018 supercrew XLT 4X4 6.5' bed, Blue Jeans color with grey cloth bench seats, 302A package, 3.5 ecoboost, 3.55 gears, chrome package, voice activated navigation, pro trailer backup, trailer tow package, sync connect, bed step, 36g tank, trailer brake, XLT power group package.
MSRP is $52,740
With the available discounts in my area ($5965 according to ford.com) and the dealers markdown, they have it listed at $40,960.
They told me this doesn't include rebates that not everyone would qualify for, like military or first responders. They said the price is cost minus half the holdback from Ford, does that sound right? Just hate overpaying for anything, especially a truck that is already a year old, even if it only has 20 miles on it. Link to truck and window
sticker below.
Thanks for the help xx hope to be part of the forums soon! Have had lots of Ford's, 94 Probe GT, 04 SVT Focus, 08 Edge AWD and a 11 Fusion.

It's been a few years but I received a discount of 28% off MSRP, it was a current year XLT truck.

Exclamation

12,000 off right now is a pretty good deal on a 2018.

What is the dealers "doc fee", however?

Ask the dealer to show you the Smart Vincent report. Incentives in our area are 3500 + 1500 + 1000 trade assistance and additional 500 for certain VINs .
Hold back is approximately 1500 or 750 for half. The dealer should show you the hold back number if they are negotiating with it. Invoice is about 8% or about 4200 off sticker.
3500+1500+4200+750+500=10450 so the numbers are in the right ballpark.

As far as I know, in Washington state, it's $150 negotiable fee

Another local dealer had the truck below, a fully loaded lariat with the sport package (love that front grill and technology package) on sale for $49,990, MSRP was $65,380.
only problem is (other than the ugly, but removable graphics) is that it is used as a service loaner, so it has over 3,000 miles and I can only imagine a ding or chip or other things a new leftover 18' doesn't have.
Good discount but not sure they'd budge any lower, sent them a price request voicing my concerns to see if they really want to move that truck, link below.

That is a very nice truck for that price. If you are concerned about the 3,000 miles on it, you can always add an extended warranty and still be ahead on money savings.

That's about 22% off for a new truck. That's not a bad deal.
