Question Pricing help on XLT

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a '14 XLT Supercrew 2WD with 302A package, HID, Leather, V8 with 3.55 Electronic rear lock diff.

What would be a good price to offer (rebates included)? they have about 140 2014 F150 on the lot (California)

Thanks

Start at 30% off MSRP and settle for 25%.

Doubt he'll get that much off in CA. But, I could be wrong...no harm trying.

I offered out the door price, as I had about 1500 negative equity of 32.5, but I don't have leather or led. There first price was 38 & Chanel I said nope 32.5
, she came back 45 min later with 32.5 deal.

Don't do otd. Offer a price for truck including all fees except tax title and license. I say 20% off is a fair and good goal.

I like to negotiate an OTD price. Let them do the math.

Just picked up a 2014 xlt 4x4 reg cab that was priced at 38.400 and got them down to 30.000 before any trade. Dealers want the 14,s gone so you should be able to get it below 30 in my opinion.

Default Crank it throug Truecar

Crank it through Truecar for your area. You don't have to actually buy from them. You can check the actual inventory in your area through Ford.com, so you aren't just dealing with hypotheticals. There's a $250 fee to Truecar built in, but on the other hand, their quote doesn't include the doc fee. So it's the "OK" price.

Pay attention to the incentives available to you. You can do quite well if you are a military veteran, law-enforcement official recent college graduate who is financing through Ford Credit and also a member of the American Quarterhorse Association, who is turning in a leased dodge but who also owns another Ford.....

Check with the Sam's Club or other buying service available to you. In my case the shipping fee would have eaten up the savings, but I ended up offering the local dealer the Sam's price plus half the shipping fee and they (grudgingly) accepted. It was left of the bell curve they show on Truecar, by the way and I watched for a couple of months and it never showed up.

Trying to squeeze the last $200 out of the price just isn't worth it. You don't have to get the rock bottom price. Just come close.

P.S. I'm serious abut the AQHA. They make you belong for a few months before you claim the rebate, but anyone who is in the tire kicking stage might want to consider it. You get a nice magainze for the end table if nothing else.

p.p.s. No need to discuss your research with the dealer. Ask them if they "can get me into" the car for $X out the door.
