Default Power Window & Door Lock Installation

Hello all,
I have owned my 2008 F-150 XL for about a year now and am getting pretty frustrated with the manual windows and door locks. It's tacky and embarrassing, especially with the ladies. I've been considering getting Power Windows and Door Locks installed since the day I bought it but I'm finally kind of at the end of my rope. But I digress. I need suggestions like where to go to, should I have it professionally installed or try it myself?

Please give me some answers so I can rip off those stupid cranks and burn them.

Thanks a alot y'all

Welcome to the board.

I am not sure how easy it is to convert from manual to power windows and door locks. You could contact the dealership and ask them if they have a conversion kit for your truck.

IF you find out any information I would love to hear how hard this conversion would be. I even have the XLT power door panels in my garage just sitting there.

Well I've seen plenty of successful conversions and I know how to get the door panel off and stuff, I'm just not sure what parts to buy or whether it would be just cheaper and less time consuming to have it professionally installed. From what I've read around the net its been pretty simple

And Really? about those panels? What year are they for? Are you looking to sell? please feel free to email me pictures at Falloutnick@gmail.com, I am interested in that.

Im not really sure what I want to do with them. They are in perfect condition with the OEM buttons set up for a supercab or supercrew. If I can successfully instal the power windows and locks I would really like to and give it the OEM look. I hate the cranks and push down locks but if not I would have no option but to sell em.

there was a post in the 2009 forums that showed an aftermarket install that looked really good (except the switches they used sorta looked like they came from a chevy!)

Would it be simple to use OEM panels and switches instead of the ones used in lets say a power conversion kit?
