Well, decided to check on more refinancing options. Went to the lending tree website on my phone and decided to plug in all my info.

got several offer listings back from companies like clearlane and autopay, and rategenius. The one from clearlane is attractive, coming in for 5 years at 2.49% apr, and $420 per month.

another from autopsy, 2.74% apr for 4.5 years and $461 per month.

these all sound great, but, I'm always very skeptical of these off brand lenders. Afraid they are the shady type and are looking for any excuse to repo your car if you are even a day late on your payment, or will try and alter the deal once you've signed the paperwork.

will have to investigate.

Finance through a local credit union.

Default Also, a possible King Ranch purchase!

Guys, I think I'll get some opinion here as I have thought about this to death myself.
I love the KR, especially with the appliqué. I have a perfectly fine 2016 XLT sport FX4 with Lithium grey. I bought it thinking it's my last truck and did a sound upgrade, grill upgrade to a Platinum grill (love the platinum too), and Anzo headlight. Beautiful bed rug plus Weather tech liner.

Now, the truck has 9500 miles, V8. I saw in NJ there's a two tone white KR, 2016, V8, 23000 mikes, towing mirror, appliqué, one owner. EVERYTHING I wanted in a KR. The dealer gave me a sucky trade value but I think I can negotiate.

Should I do it?

Statistically, it should be a no brained trade up right? Why did the KR owner sell the truck?

in the tristate, the cowboy spirited KR doesn't seem to be popular as dealers told me. I can see that. The owner was from FL, maybe he moved to the east coast and needed money? Kinda an opposite move but who knows. I haven't seen the truck in person so perhaps there's a fatal issue. My XLT is all paid off. Another NJ dealer gave me a very high value "provided its paid off and I would also pay cash for the new KR they have". Maybe I should use that dealers number to negotiate with this dealer?

Wish I could help, but I'm not in a position to bargain as well since mine is not paid off.

to be honest, I'm starting to talk myself out of this. Even though I'm really starting to lean toward the titan SL, which is a year newer and 16000 less miles and about $1700 cheaper. It also has an excellent service record, but, a 6 year old truck with 60000 miles and no warranty, bothers me. I'm sure it would be fine, as it was well cared for, lightly driven, and the titans are known for having good motors, still, in the back of my mind, I can't help but think...what happens if 3 months from now, something major breaks on it

then on the other hand, I also think, what if the truck lasts another 90000 miles before it starts having issues and I pass up a chance to have a really nice truck at a great price.

I wonder if there are any legitimate extended warranties out There? I'd consider it, for peace of mind, but I've heard that most of the aftermarket warranties are no good and the only ones really worth it are the factory warranties.

decisions decisions...lol

There's also the thinking of: what if my currebtbtruck runs fine within the warranty then bang, motor goes. Then what? Lol

Yep, it's a gamble for sure. Granted, I've got a year left on my original factory b2b warranty, and 3 years power train warranty left.

I had an '03 Ranger that was completely paid off and ran like a champ. Needed some TLC but still ran like a champ. I paid it off and drove it till a kid hit me and bent the frame. Now I have an 03 F150 that needs work but the work is less than any car payment I could get. Honestly you can look at refinancing but I'm still of the opinion to stick with what you have. I'm assuming you bought it new, so you know what has and hasn't been done to the truck and when. Buying a used car can be a question of knowing for sure it's been well maintained.

It's all up to you man but my personal opinion is pay what you have off and drive it till it dies. Once you have it paid off put what you were spending on payments in the bank and save up. When it dies you'll have enough to buy what you want.

Dealers can and do trade but there is a markup for it. As for your options you have your truck paid off and it runs well. If you have the money to buy it then that's up to you but I like driving them till they fall apart. Would you rather be paying a car payment or running a known good vehicle around?
