Sounds like the best option is to use an FM transmitter and tune it on the radio...

I was concerned about the same thing last year before delivery on my 2017 XL. Found the "Bluetooth" connectivity to be rapid and secure and less messy to work with. Also use a USB stick memory as an MP3 storage and playback source of my entire music library. The accessory plug became useless for me and a non issue.
