Poor mileage 14 MPG 2016 3.5
My new 2016 Has a little over 7000 miles on it, I am averaging about 14.9 to 15 Miles to the gallon driving at 77 miles an hour on 95 in FL.
when I traded in my Dodge ram it had over 200,000 miles on it, with A Hemi and I was getting 16mpg
On my way home from the dealer with the first tank of gas I thought I averaged about 18mpg
I think I'm ready to take the loss and trade this for Chevy or Dodge with a big V8
I have no idea why the mileage is so poor it is a 4 x 4 but I only drive 2 wheel and no city all Interstate
Had 2 oil changes at dealer one this week and one at 2,500 miles
Any ideas why the poor mileage 3.5 Eco Boost

Im probably little help. but i got a 17 with 200 and some miles. It has a 5.0 just kicking around town and hilly country driving. Im reading 15.7 to 16.5 mpg.
If i might ask. Why the change at 2,500 miles.

i'm not getting much different with a 14 3.5l i use only 91 oct and full synthetic. i did average 18mpg round trip to vegas. but usually only 10-12mpg as i only drive 3 miles a day. 2 trips to the school lol.
edit if i remember right i didn't start getting the advertised 17 combined till after 10-15k miles

Trucks have the aerodynamics of bricks. Slow down to 70 mph and you'll add 2 mpg. Drop to 65 mph and you'll add about 2 more mpg.
Driving a Chevy, Dodge, or a Tundra won't make 1 mpg difference. Your old Dodge was at 16mpg and a new one won't be any better.

Your mileage is normal for that speed. The faster you go the faster the mpg's come down.
There are other factors that play a role is mpg's obviously but when the 3.5tt is in boost, excel quickly and run past 70 the mpg's drop quickly. The 3.5 is not an economy motor. Probably has twice the power your Hemi had.
No such thing as break in oil in these motors.

I used to birch about MPG i also drove it like I stole it. I asked my uncle who owns his own shop and he answered me by saying "You really wanna improve MPG?" I said yes.
He said "you have to adjust the nut behind the wheel". It took a second but I got it. Turns out he was right.

Yep. Just completed a 11 hour drive. 2016 3.5 Eco with 6k . got about 19 MPH average speed 65. Around town I get about 14. Some folks have got the rated Mileage but I suspect that is under 65 MPH. Still tons better then the Tundra it replaced and way more comfortable.

If u r at 14 mpg avg at 77 that is 3-4 mpg low. U will not get 20 w a 5.0 or 3.5 eco at that speed on average. Is a brake caliper sticking? Also, did u reset computer? That actually works and may help
