Default Poor design= rust and bird investation!

I have a 2011 F150 Screw Lariat and noticed bird crap down the side of my truck. Normally they evenly coat the vehicles in the drive but this was down one side and I noticed a mess around the big hole Ford left around the corner of the hood. I looked again heard chirping and found a nest of birds living inside the frame/fender of the truck! I can even stick my hand inside of the hole and can't figure out why Ford decided to put a huge hole for dranage to places you will never be able to wash and for who knows what will get in there. Does anyone know if there is a fix or a product to close this big hole? Since this is a bad design, should Ford fix the bird issue for me under warranty?

The dirty hole

The good stuff that will not get washed of good winters goo and little bird heads hoping for food.

Nesting material coming through the other side.

Best post so far this year, sorry I had to LOL. You beat me about birds sitting on the bed rails and crapping by a long shot.

A warm garage would keep the birds out and make for a happy truck.

Birds are investing in your truck?

Nice way to defray the costs, just make sure you claim the money by filing a 1099-Chirp
