Thats really not true. If you are making torque you have hp. If you have no hp its because the device is not moving to generate the torque.

I'm voting for torque, need it for pulling the trailers and hauling firewood. I'll hop in the wife's car when I want high HP.

I'm more for lb-ft of torque. I always remember the two this way...

Torque is how much work you can do. HP is how fast you can do the amount of work the torque provides.

HORSEPOWER..... chicks dont take their tops off for Torque.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall if racing.....

Torque is how much of the wall you carry with you when you plow through it!

torque is important, but all the torque in the world is uselless without the hp to back it up, although they are of equal importance, if your going to produce the hp, it is imperitive you give equal consideration to torque, with my nite i will have about 350 hp, with that im also putting in a 5 speed with a centerforce clutch to give it that extra oommpphh!!! hahahahahaha, gotta love it!!
