Polished a turd!

Canopy was free, it fits and it's undamaged. Wasn't worried about style points, just wanted something to keep the snow off my junk in the back. I live in British Columbia Canada and snow is a fact of life. This being my winter beater, the canopy's staying. Winch bumper turned out good, pics don't show but I hinged the license plate so I can drive over snow banks and not destroy it. I might make a filler panel for around the winch as the opening is a lot bigger then it needs to be.

Oct 09 Truck of the Month
Looks like you got just what you wanted. A cost effective project that turned out to be a great looking truck. Looks like it'll get the job done too. I say keep it around, but I can understand the fun of doing another project. If you sell it, let us know what you get for it. See if you turn a profit! LOL

Wow nice job. I like it a lot. Aside from the topper and the moon/sun visor (never was a fan of those). But hey if you gotta avoid the snow and it was free thats a great deal. Where did you find that winch for so cheap? How many miles is on that truck? That paint polished out real nice!

Sunvisor was on it when I got it, so again, it'll stay as I don't want to start doing body work to fill the holes. Must admit that the lights on it didn't work when I got it but I did fix those. I've never been a huge fan of them either, especially on low trucks. It ha sgrown on me and does look better at night lit up. Winch bumper came from local pick and pull for $60, had to rework it for body lift (was in it when I bought, not a body lift fan) and cleaned it up and painted it. Winch itself was on EBAY, company was putting one on everyday for a 24 hour listing. I just kept watching them till one went cheap. It's Runvawinch, or Runvacanada or something like that. Truck has 164,000 kms, so just over 100,000 miles.
