Pretty good investment if you have the nav feature, i'll be damned if you crack the brake feature in this thing without one of these boxes, not as easy as a cheap aftermarket headunit where you just ground the brake line out the back, this is integrated pretty much into the ECU.
Hey. Im from Fargo. I was curious to know if you did this yourself? Thanks.

If you go on their website they have a video on youtube of how to take everything apart, loaded it on the wifes ipad and went to work, honestly besides looking like a lot of work when the wife came out wondering why half the truck was apart a week after we owned it, it was pretty simple to do.

Im pretty nervous to start tearing the damn truck apart. Maybe I should just take it somewhere to like Tintmasters or Site on Sound!

It's pretty easy, watch the video and all ya do is pull a bunch of screws out. Took me about an hour. Also, put the control module down by the glove box, if ya ever need an update or access to it you have it right there.

After market systems use a wire that you connect to the park brake light to tell if you are parked or not. To over ride it i simply connected that wire straight to ground. I have a buddy who did the same thing, however his system wouldn't work unless there was a 3 second delay before the brake sensor wire was grounded. He just connected his through a toggle switch hidden under the dash board, so a few seconds after starting his car, he just flips the switch(a time delay relay would work too). I don't know if the factory system can be by passed that way or not, but it would be a lot cheaper.

Can't be done. Without a product like the Lock Pick it's not happening.

I don't know how to fix this but I know there is a fix. My local custom accessory shop said by law when they hook up a navigation that plays dvd's when it leaves the shop this safety issue that stops you from playing a DVD while driving must be engaged. The tech said after you go home and you want to disengage this safety feature you can but its more to protect them. Ill keep my eyes open for you.

the lock pick is pricey but it's nice that it offers all those other options to install more cameras.

my car is leased, i haven't decided wether i'll keep it or not yet. if i decide to keep it then i'm definitely pulling the trigger on one of these units.
