why not order whatever truck you want, then do an upgrade on the best leather seats FORD Offers?? I'm not sure if you can go 3rd party bc you won't get much back for the seats that come w the truck, but if you could, that opens another whole suite of options.

For what its worth, when I got my 15 Lariat it had deployable running boards and I didnt want them for the same reasons you mentioned....live and travel in Wisconsin and the UP. After having them, and being flawless in the worst of winter, I just ordered them on my new Lariat. Snow and ice dont get all balled up like it does on set boards. Id say to give them a try...like someone else said, you could always sell and there will be alot of buyers! Also...the lower and wider step is awesome. I stand on them and change my boots, snow pants, etc.

As stated above, power boards will not stay deployed above 5km/hr.
I live in a snow belt in Ontario, and have them on my Lariat. No issues whatsoever in 2 winters. In and out many times a day, and they have never been stuck. They drop lower, great for my short wife, are wider, and not slippery. Best option I have ordered on any truck (the tailgate step is a close second). Order them, keep them lubricated, and enjoy your new ride.
