Not even sure where to begin with this post, it seems all over the board. I spend a lot of time with automotive build/sales data for work, have actual, hard manufacturing and sales data, and even I am not going to go back through it to argue anyone's "real world" data, or their tallying and compiling. You have an opinion on what you see on a daily basis, but it is far from hard facts to argue with. We can not say for sure without Ford's fleet sales they would be nothing. We also have to remember that Ram and Chevy have their portion of fleet sales as well, and really, fleet vs. consumer, actual data, isn't as easy to go through as someone might think. In the end, this is all just opinions, so I won't get into an opinion debate because I don't really have one here.
What I do know, from actual reported numbers, is Chevy was the #1 selling truck in the state of California overall in 2017. I didn't look too far into the data for the specifics, but not sure it's 5 to 1, unless you have some data you went through to come up with that number. There were not many states that Chevy outsold Ford overall in 2017, but California was one of them.

chevy is the best selling full-size truck in socal. i remember seeing a billboard proudly proclaiming this when i was out in LA last summer. chevy (and everybody else) still gets their *** handed to them by the tacoma though, which is why they cant claim "best selling truck in socal". in norcal its much more balanced and i would say ford might even have an advantage, that just based on what i saw while i was there for two weeks (spent a week in LA and a week in the bay area).

You cant fake photos like that. And its not a fluke photo, thats literally how it is everywhere you look in this ******* city. It pisses me off. Im not saying all of CA contains 5x more silverados than f150s, but in central CA thats definitely how it is. All you have to do is come here and use your eyes and bring a notepad and spend a few years tallying it up for yourself.

Actually its the other way around, the hordes of GM fanboys in this area get butthurt at the sight of my truck because theyve been indoctrinated to hate Ford, talk about having no life. My buddies gave me nonstop **** for driving a Ranger back in the day and they couldnt go longer than 5 seconds without talking **** on Mustangs. They got it from somewhere. ******* herd mentality. The anti ford attitude gets passed around here like a STD.

My truck spends most of it's time towing a camper. There no doubt that Ford trucks are set up well for towing. I traded I. My 15 after 90k trouble free miles and moved to the 18 with the backup assist. Backing into cramps camping spots is easy as heck now and I dont have to worry about jack knifing. The best part is that I dont beed my wife to guide me anymore .

Sorry guys - I didn't mean for this to turn into a fight between sales figures....
Oddly enough, I live in a GM town, Lansing, MI.... we have several plants here making the Enclave, Traverse, Acadia.... as well as the Cadillac and Camaros...... a good number of Chevy Silverado's but a buttload of F150s and even a fair amount of Rams... I would say Chevy's by just a nose with almost equal F150's and followed fairly closely by Ram trucks.
So... I think it is different from one place to the next....you'd think it would be 75% Chevys and a smattering of F150's and Rams.... but they are very closely equal.
In any event... I think I am settled on the F150.... I have had 2 Chevy's in 2002 and 2004 - - both new Z71's.... and honestly, they weren't very inspiring. I think the current models suck as far as looks and interior.... I would be bored driving one in the first 5 minutes.... Shame the RAM has the ticking time-bomb Hemi, or I would definitely be in one.... but the F150 is a damn nice truck and it isn't going to rust out like the other two.
