Thanks for the feedback.... yeah, that would definitely drive me nuts too..... heavily leaning towards the F150 at this point. Just don't want to risk it, when it seems like a pretty widespread 'issue.'

Yeah..the first time my interest peaked. The second time was to confirm my first bad experience was not a fluke. Both in Hawaii. Subsequent times, it is one of those situations where the rental agency says we are out of cars, but you can take this Jeep Wrangler or wait 1-2 hours for a return. Once in Boston and once in Florida. The next time I will sit my butt on their bench and wait.

Dude, it's simple. Get what makes you happy. I switched to Ford (from a life of GM) because I wasn't impressed with the quality of my 16' Silverado. And you know what, my F-150 has some weird annoying quirks too that sometimes has me wondering about the build quality of certain components. Every manufacturer is going to have quirks and some frustrating quality issues that you will experience. I'm far from a fan boy of any specific brand, I drive what I like and what works. Your problem is that you are on an F-150 forum asking opinions about Ram. There are definitely diehards on here and anything close to bagging on Ford will get you flogged. You'd get the same business if you were on Ram forums.

I think the new Ram interior blows the competition so far out of the water. but the exteriors leave a little to be desired IMO. FCA gets somewhat of a bad rap, but my 14' Charger RT was the best driving and least problematic vehicle I ever had. Only thing that would have me on hold for the Ram is that it's the first model year. Sometimes that doesn't work out so well. Get what you want and enjoy it!

You have to wonder how many guests come on a forum like this and read about all the F150 woes and then go buy a GM or RAM. I have to admit, some of the negative stuff here makes me nervous about my trucks.

The real question is whether you can stomach the shifting ****. (I’m rather *tall and the 2019 Ram has it positioned touching my right knee).

Well, there are more 2015+ Rams in my area than there are 2015+ f150s. And there are 10x more Silverados than f150s here so maybe youre right lol. Ford is getting absolutely DESTROYED by Chevrolet in sales here, and always has. Its not even close. (and im not even counting Sierras, which also outnumber f150s here all by themselves).
I wouldnt even want a newest gen F150, and Im a Ford fan. So to the OP I say get the 19 Ram, or better yet, wait a few model years for them to iron out the first-year kinks and get a 2021 Ram. Unless you haul big loads. If you do, avoid the Ram.
