Personal Luxury Car
Does anyone else consider the current F-150 to be a modern interpretation of a personal luxury car? Whenvever I give people rides in my truck, they always compare it to an old school Cadillac. I personally think it fits into all the criteria that define a PLC since it's a comfortable highway cruiser (at least for those in the front row), it has distinctive and bold styling, it's huge, it can be optioned out with equipment that rivals high-end luxury cars, and has massive road presence.

When you look at the top three, Platinum, Limited and King Ranch, I would easily put them on par with Lexus, and a few other "Luxury" vehicle companies. They aint no Bentley and Rolls Royce though, as those are the Definition of ultimate Luxury. Been in both cars and they are just beautiful!

That's why they call it a "Cowboy Cadillac", thus my screen name.

This. The rear seats of the crew cab are spacious and you can get some nice options like heated rear seats. But Ford still uses cheap (probably bonded) leather and the Limited's have the exact same suspension as the XL's. It might be comparable to an entry level luxury car like a BMW 3 series or a Lexus IS350, but it's not anywhere near a true luxury car like a BMW 7 series or Mercedes S-class.

Trucks are more luxurious now than they were in the past, but luxury cars are more luxurious than they were in the past too.
So, trucks have not caught up to luxury cars....they have both become nicer than they were. If anything, the luxury cars of today have widened the gap between them and trucks.

According to my government, all vehicles above 40k are considered as luxury, no matter what the type.
I don't however consider mine as being luxury even if it's equipped with nav, big screen and fancy stuff. My Lexus IS250 had materials that were 100x better in terms of quality (dash, cluster, sound system, etc.) both inside and outside. The finish is what determines if a vehicle is luxury or not, IMO.
