I've been reading some of the threads here on the different performance chips... My question is, if they do what people say they do then why don't manufacturers put them on vehicles in the factory and/or make them available as an option? I have 3 vehicles and drive a lot of miles (nothing is close to anything here in Montana), so adding just 2 MPG to a vehicle would make a significant difference in the gas bill... Between the 3 vehicles we average about 45,000 miles per year. If I could squeeze out 2 more MPG it would save us a little over $1,300/year if my math is right...

Manufacturers cannot because they are require to make all their vehicles 50 state legal to sell and CA Has some insane vehicle emissions laws.
