Paypal Scam?

Every once in a while I'll get an email requesting me to "pay for an item" that I've recently purchased from that "Vendor". It says something like "thank you for your recent purchase. Please click on the link we've provided to your PayPal account, blah, blah, blah....", or something similar. The hair on my neck immediately rises because Of course I know I haven't purchased anything, and of course I know it's bogus, especially when it's something I wouldn't buy anyway. I'll look to see who it's suppose to be, then I'll Google that website. Usually it's bogus, or, sometimes it "appears" to be an actual website. I'll go directly to PayPal and log in. And of course nothing there. Then I'll report it.... Main thing is to Never click on any link that is provided in any type of email you are not expecting, or from any "Vendor" you are not familiar with. You should know who you've recently purchased from. You should know what you've purchased, and you should know how you've paid for it, or are going to pay for it. When I make a purchase on line I always use PayPal, and I always pay immediately. I'll get confirmation emails from the Vendor and from Paypal, and then usually an email with shipping information. That way I have no question of where and when....

I would guess that most of the "scams" are hacked accounts.
