Surewhynot?... 13 of my last 16 vehicles have been black and I still own 3 of them.

Thanks again for the replies. I showed her all the opinions here and said, "well, that sure wasn't conclusive". Lol. She has two kids and isn't sure she has the time -or patience-to wash a black vehicle as it should be.
But.....she'll change her mind 1,428 times, she'll drive me crazy, so Dad is now OUT of the process!!!!! ;-)

2002 Explorer
1997 Taurus
2010 Infiniti G37 (traded for the F-150)
2010 Taurus SHO
2012 Focus Titanium (traded for the SHO)
2012 F-150
...and yes I'd buy black again. No color looks better after being washed IMO.

Ya, in my opinion black is the only way to go, and I live down a dirt road. They just look so much better when clean, though sometimes that can be a rare occurrence, lol! No other color even comes close to looking as good when clean, but some look a little better when dirty which is most of the time so it really comes down to personal preference I guess, haha!

black is without a doubt the best looking color when its clean. but my truck is almost never clean, and i hate detailing it up all nice and then it rain the next day and ruin it haha. i had my pinstripes removed recently and had a dealership buff and polish the marks out. looked great at first but after a week of rain the wax is wearing off and its showing some serious swirlage.
love my black truck, but next time around i'll probably go with a lighter color

In 2006, I bought my 1st Black vehicle, a 2007 Escalade. From day one I swore I would NEVER have another black vehicle.
After 5 years, I traded it in for a White Range Rover Sport, and I love it. I can take sandpaper to it, and you can't tell
Last month, it was time to get a pick-up, and trade in my wifes Audi. She loved the Black-Tuxedo, and so here we go again.
I'll say that at least the Black F150 has enough sparkle in it to make dust not so apparent.

Devil's advocate
I think black looks the best and I do love it but I will not buy another black vehicle. It looks dirty 10 minutes after a wash and is noticeably hotter than hell. Loved my white car I had - always clean!

If it's your daughter's vehicle I'd say it depends on her. We all know that black is the worst when it comes to revealing swirls, blemishes, etc. If she is likely to fuss over this, skip dark colors in general. I, personally, love owning a black truck. It has many scratches, swirls, and what have you, but it's a truck... it's to be expected. Is she set on black or does there just happen to be one available?
