Thank you all for sharing your experiencing in advance.
Do you actually care what anyone here has or would have to say? Buyers remorse is personal - so is the decision to purchase a truck. Pick the one you want and be happy!

First off, I would like to thank you all for your comments.

I personally plan to use the truck for everyday drive (replace my current SUV so I have the option to pulling / haul occasionally. I do not use a lot for haul but nice option to have, that why I plan to trade in my SUV for the truck.

I had tested drive on both, Eco boost and V8 model. Initially, I like Eco boost better because it provides more torque power and better gas miles. In fact, I was ready to purchase this vehicle – my local dealer and I agreed on the price and ready to move forward. BUT, not until couple of days ago, I read a review that someone have problem with the Eco-boost when drive in rain/moisture condition that loss power for 30 or more second before return to normal operation. That got me hesitate a little bit to more forward with the purchase, and got me rethink whether I should go with V8 instead of Ecoboost. That is why this thread was started. I didn’t realized it could be ugly..

Right before I post this thread on this site, I did post a similar thread on http://www.f150ecoboost.net, since I didn’t know about this site but someone suggested/pointed me to this site for unbiased opinion, since everyone on f150ecoboost site owns an F-150 Ecoboost.

It is definitely going to be tough decision to make (there are pros & cons on each model). Hopefully, I will have an answer soon.

Unless you are looking at models above the XLT's you may want to test drive the 3.7.

If your basically using the truck as a daily driver, with little or no towing I will suggest the 5.0L or the 3.7L. From my experience with the two aforementioned engines the mpg's are still very close if you are buying a Crew Cab. The 3.5L from reading threads can get good mpg's, but for the most part once again they are so close their isn't a real winner. All of these engines are strong, and I expect the reliability will be as good as Ford's previous offers. The Eco problems seem to be taken care of in the '13' - 14's. Even at that it wasn't a wide spread problem. You have to remember that forums as this get more than average complaints, because many come here for help with a problem. Once again drive them all, pick the one that puts a smile on your face. That way you won't second guess your purchase. Good luck.

based on what you described, I would recommend the 5.0. if you got doubt to the ecoboost issue, you probably wont ever get it out of your mind. Have people had issues,,yes,, everyone have them,, no.. One thing you can say about the 5.0 is it wont have any CAC issue. But have no regret or second thoughts of your purchase. good luck with your decision.

Do U like the V8 way of driving. Or do U like the hell raising torque of the EB. Remember torque, an the hell raising amount of gasoline that is being injected. One pull proves 2.9 mpg burnt up to deliver that torque with the EB. Now the 5.0L will be around 3.5 mpg trying to catch up. That's a sustained maximum torque pull with sustained rpms above 4000 to arrive at these figures.
