Opinion on Tires !Need Help!
Hello everyone,
So I'm looking into some Nitto Trail Grappler MTs for my truck.
These are my notes so far!
I have a 305/55r20 Cooper LTZ Zeon on my truck.
And I wanna get 295/55r20 in the Trail Grapplers.
The difference in tires are
305/55/20 (ZEON) H - 33.20" W = 12.44"
295/55/20 (TRAIL) H - 32.91" W = 12.52"
295s
H = lose .29"
W= gain .08" Gain 12 lbs
So I think I am just over thinking things, but will .29" of an inch be noticeable? Or am I just being dumb?
Let me know what you guys think!

Your calculations are a little off I think at least for width. .
The 305/55/20 comes in at 33.2" tall and 12.00" wide while the 295/55/20 comes in at 32.77" tall and 11.61" wide.
Hope that helps!

I know generally a 295 would be that wide but even right off of nitto it says that it that wide.

And because I was going to get a 305/55r20 In the trail grappler MT , but it was a little taller and a little wider.
305/55/20 (COOPER) H - 33.20" W = 12.44"
305/55/20 (TRAIL MT) H - 33.39" W = 12.60"
H= gain .20" Gain 16 lbs
W= gain .14"
And I have no room to go taller or even wider. But 0.08" wider? That's nothing. I'm just wondering if 0.29" is noticable? Or am I just being dumb?

Hmm well idk where they are getting those numbers because if the tires have the same size then they are the same size. The only difference being tread depth which would be 32ths of an inch and 305 isn't a 12.50" wide tire
But to answer your question no a .29" in height difference wouldn't be noticeable.

Yea tire sizes are kind of only a ball park measurement. That's why I don't bother with tire size calculators anymore and just go straight to the websites for the actual sizes.
For instance my buddies 285-70-17 trail grapplers are actually wider than my 295-70-18 trail grapplers even though mine should be 10mm's wider. Weird stuff.

Well it depends on what rim width they measure it on too. That's where the discrepancies come in.
You could mount a 245 on a 12" wide rim and suddenly have a 11.8" wide tire technically.

Yeah it's really weird. I don't know why it's wider than my 305 now.. Weird.
I have 20x10 Fuel Kranks on now. Love them! I also have a wicked camburg front end suspension kit now. Just trying to give the truck a more mean look now I guess haha.
