No. The door panel must be removed entirely.

I can't remeber, I think it was only 2 screw on the bottom. Remove those 2 screws and the door panel. Pops up. The widow and doors wires are right there. Either disconnect or just jury rig the door panel to hang or rest on something so it doesn't pull the wire. 3 bolts and the mirror is off.
Google it and there are a few videos.

In my old '01 Screw (back when it was new), I had been out to my parents in backwoods WV when a van came around the curve on the wrong side of the road. I went as far off the road as I could (creek) and came to a complete stop (I could see from a distance he wasn't watching the road, he was turned around yelling at his kids). He swerved at the last second but still smacked mirrors with me. My mirror ended up in my lap. Unfortunately, my window was UP. All that safety glass sprayed me pretty good, and fortunately I had my glasses on (took a chunk out of one of the lenses). Of course I get out and I have all of these little dots of blood all over me from the glass. He stops about 200yds down the road, walks back and apologizes for being distracted then says "well out here we just take care of our own damage". To which I said, "BS bub, I'm calling the police and you're not leaving". Long story short, his insurance paid for my mirror, my window, cleaning the glass from my interior, painting my driver's door, and new lenses in my glasses. My repair bill was over a grand. His probably $50. "Take care of our own"...still pisses me off and that's been 13 years ago.
