This is why I never lease. I don't like felling like I have to baby my truck at all times. If my kid spills his drink or more likely I spill my coffee etc, I don't want to fret over it. A scratch here or their no stress.

Ford "Wear & Tear" is very forgiving. You can have 3 scratches and dings per exterior panel, up to 2 cigarette burns, 2 tears, and 1 stain on each individual panel of each seat & carpet, up to 3" cracks on each gauge cluster and infotainment screen, unlimited bed wear & dents, just no punctures. A person would really have to beat on their truck to exceed the "Normal Wear & Tear", and probably shouldn't even own a newer vehicle. Our city "Township" leases trucks every 2-3 years, those things get returned with low mileage, but very worked, not even washed, and only been dinged once for excessive wear, a large dent on top bed rail.

Yea that wouldn't be a problem for me but I still think maybe a 2013 or 2014 would suit my personality better

It’s simple - do you want to buy a new truck every 2 or 3 years? If so then find the best lease deal you can. It’s a simpler transaction.

If you plan to keep it more than 3 years then buying is less expensive.

Another option is to lease for 2-3 years then buy it out and finance it from there. It really just extends the financing and makes the monthly payments a bit lower (depending on the lease).

But leasing will never be cheaper than buying it and keeping it for 5-6 years.

Everyone has different uses. For me, I don't beat the sh*t out of them. i like to haul stuff, maybe tow a small trailer, and use it as my regular vehicle because I feel safer in a truck, and I like to sit up higher.
So, I leased. Heck of a lot cheaper payment than if I'd bought, and the fact that I like to have a new vehicle every 3 years. I literally could have a new truck basically for 7.5 years of lease payments, compared to what I would have paid on MY current vehicle. After 8 years, i'd be tired of that same vehicle If I'd bought it.
just the way I see it.

Of course if as many do, you just want a pickup for styling and use it as a simply oversized, overpriced sedan then you may preserve it in good condition. I suppose this is the reason for the plethora of four-door pickup trucks with vestigal cargo beds.

A truck is a truck.

Clearly, the point I was making is that you have a long way to go before you purchase a vehicle if you want to do it wisely duh !!!

TTL = TAX, TITLE, and LICENSE FEE's extra, and don't forget that DOC FEE!
