Default Oil Pressure Gauge

On my truck and all the pics of gauges I see here on the forum, the needle is in the same place. When I start the truck, the needle pops up to about 3/4 of the way on the gauge. It stays there no matter what. (glad it doesn't go to zero...ha).
Anyways, what I 'm getting to is that it looks like a simple pressure switch not a real gauge that is on our trucks. What ya'll think ???
Thanks, Pete

I know that the old oil pressure gauges on the Fords were just dummy gauges. As long as you had over 7psi or something like that it went up. anything lower and it said zero. Wouldn't surprise me if the new trucks were the same way. I'm actually kind of surprised they even put the oil gauge on the cluster. Most people are too busy texting or playing on ****ter and facebook to take time to look at the gauges these days.

It is a dummy gauge. Whether you are pushing 6 psi or 60, it reads the same. There is just a switch on the sensor, not a true sensor.
