Your lucky your not parking in Manhatten. There are garages there I swear must have a 6' ceiling. When I drive into the city I take my car, never the truck................
Also as far as your particular problem, isn't the bar foam or some material that actually wouldn't damage the truck? I could swear I hit some before. If it were me, and you care about roof scratches, I'd go to a body shop and get that 3M clear film applied to your entire roof.

Since the sign is made of non-marking PVC....could you install different screws and countersink them sometime when nobody is around (or get permission from the owner to do it)?

Sounds like it's time for a 1"/2" drop kit.

Our garage at work is 6'6'' and I fit nicely, but had to get a shorter antenna. The clearance bar is at an angle, not level so I have to stay as far as I can to the left when going under it. Still, being PVC 6" pipe it shouldn't scratch because it's held by eye-screws on the top, with the nut inside the pipe. No metal on the bottom. I stay on the first level, but it does get scary if the exit gate is stuck and I have to exit on the 5th floor. I actually stopped the first time to look and clearance in one place on level 4 is about 3/4".

Here is how close I got in the ramp. This is right at the exit. I never actually measured how much space I had but not a lot!

OP, if you are interested, you can just remove your rear factory blocks for free.
They are around 1.5", and it'll actually level your truck....and give you some additional clearance.
It's a free mod.

How about another vehicle? This might be a good time to pick up that midlife crisis convertible... Or just find one of those dirt cheap econobox leases. Or just buy a dirt cheap used econobox. It would keep miles off your truck. And you could score that sweet parking spot nobody took because they don't want to park next to the junker, but you could take it because you don't give a damn about your 2005 Toyota Corolla.
