Not sure what's going on?
Hey all,
I own a 2009 F-150 it has 9000km on it. When I fill it up it says on the driver information screen "999km to E". The last 2 fill ups it has said a totally different km range both times it has been in the 900's. Any thoughts on what might be going on? And yes I'm sure that the tank is full....lol Your thought on this would be great.
Thanks

What could be happening is that the computer is using previous mileage averages to predict what you could expect out of the next tank. You may have gotten worse mileage over the last few tanks and that is why it is predicting less than 999km. My truck has a 37 gallon tank. 999km equals 620 miles. 620 miles/37 gallons = 16.75 miles per gallons. On the high end, but a number that could be expected on a long 65mph drive.

^^^ yup sounds about right..
Alternatively - are you resetting the mpg tracker when you fill? If you don't reset it then it estimates the tank based on the CUMULATIVE gas mileage you've been getting. If you were to reset it it has nothing to base it on until you start driving and will max out at 999
