Again, the OP's post is a little unclear. I take it that the truck has less than 50 miles total and when he tried to set the cruise, the engine died. Cruise may or may not have anything to do with it. Could be something simple, or not. Hopefully he will report the findings.

I believe he is saying his engine died. Please note - a new engine should not be run on cruise - especially if this is an EB. You want to drive it like you stole it!!! The first 400 miles are critical for engine longevity. The engine needs to be run at different operating speeds to seat the rings properly as well as set the bore oil channels. Run it hard!
