Question Noisy Exhaust on Stock 2010 F150 2x4, 4.6L auto

Hi All,

New to this forum so please be kind!
I searched a little through the threads for an answer to this question but didn't find anyhting.

I just bought a fairly basic 2010 F150 Screw (auto, 4.6L, 2WD) in excellent condition with 95k on it and everything is original factory stock.

I have been finding that the exhaust is noisy coming out of the tailpipe with a fairly loud rumble, especially when accelerating. Is this normal?? I would have expected that a 2-yr old truck would be fairly quiet. A non-Ford mechanic offered that Ford had an issue with transmissions that may cause loud exhaust. Has anyone else heard that? If yes is there a recall for this? Covered under warranty? I haven't noticed any thing wrong with the transmission while driving.

With the 100k powertrain warranty about to expire I would like to have this dealt if it is powertrain related.

Thanks in advance

The transmission has nothing to do with the loudness of the exhaust, and no Ford doesn't have a recall on it. Most likely the muffler has been changed, and if you post a picture of it we can tell you. Also the stock exhaust on the 4.6L '10 year models were very quite.
