No grab handles on driver's side?

The interior changes are primarily in the dash, seats, console, door panels, etc.. *. Related Post ««« -click- that was provided above. Too my knowledge, there has been no mention of the cab being redesigned (that happened in 2009 - Generation 12 of the F-150), ergo the A pillars should be (?) the same as well as any interior trim that attaches to them. Therefore ... .

How are you getting in?
I'm 6' and used it every time I got into my '01. Left had on door, right hand on handle, lift to clear seat with ***. No seat wear in 178K+ miles.
On my 2014 I'm still trying to figure out how to get in without dragging across the seat. The step bar prevents "seat drag" but gets me too high so that I have to duck or hit my head.
Maybe being shorter helps.

Using the steering wheel
I have running boards on my King Ranch and use them to absorb almost all of my weight but use the steering wheel only for stability. After a few years it started popping and has ever since . Would have been great to have the handle like was on every other truck I have ever owned. Maybe it is not a big deal for lower trucks but like one gentleman said, if you have a lifted truck they are a necessity.

I wouldn't suggest this.
For years after buying my Jeep XJ without A-pillar grab handles, i used the steering wheel to climb in and out.
From all that lateral pulling pressure the steering wheel eventually developed some looseness.
I solved that problem a couple years ago by fabricating and installing an A-pillar grab handle in my XJ.
Now its a real pleasure getting into and out of my lifted Jeep without using the steering wheel.

For those who say it's just a convenience and not necessary, I would have agreed up until about 7-8 years ago. My hip is disintegrating slowly, I'll probably be due for a hip replacement sooner than later. I really need a handle to pull my fat *** up into the seat and even more to pull myself out without putting undue pressure on my hip while getting in and out.
I climbed trees for a living for 20 years but it caught up to me and my body simply cannot do what it used to. Now I get by the best I can and try not to let the kids see me wince. I just work smarter, not harder.
The lack of a handle was one of the reasons I ended up getting a 2016 instead of the 2014 I was originally looking at.

It actually took me a long time to remember that the handle was there. But now - so happy to have it.

It a genuine OEM Jeep XJ grab handle i picked up from the junk yard off another XJ.
They're only installed from the factory on the passenger side above the window at the ceiling.
For some dumb reason Jeep decided not put grab handles on their XJ's driver's side A-pillar which is a definite need especially if its lifted.
Most or all Jeep Wrangler variants do have them. Go figure!
If anyone is interested on how i fab'd and installed that grab handle i've got a complete write up on it.
I know, i know this is a Ford forum.
