Nitto Mud Grapplers vs Trail Grapplers

Thanks everyone for your input. I just want something that is more aggressive than the terra grapplers. I'm assuming the trail grapplers are more aggressive, correct? The terra grapplers are great on the road and decent offroad, but like I said I want something more aggressive.

I still want a tire that will do well on the road though. My buddy has Mickey Thompson MTZs on and come may he will only have had them on for two years and they're basically shot already.

In what sense? Yes, they are both MT tires so somewhat similar. The KM2 is more aggressive and so it is a bit louder on the pavement, but nothing close to as loud as the Mud Grappler. The KM2 is beast offroad, they took my truck anywhere I wanted when I had them on. They are also lightweight for an MT to give better fuel mileage, and my set lasted almost 60k miles over 3.5 years.

Lightweight you say?? You have my attention... Trails are pretty heavy

Yes. The 35x12.5r18 KM2s I had were 67 pounds each. The 35x12.5r18 Toyo MTs I just put on weigh 80.9 pounds each, the difference is huge. I lost mpg with the switch and I can feel the extra rolling mass in the throttle pickup. Couldn't find the trail grappler weight but its E rated so probably also heavier than the KM2.

I think the trails are at the same weight as the toyo's... I'm going to pull one of my rims and weigh it... Can't find any weight chart for the nitto

Yeah, found the 35x12.5r20 trails weigh 79 pounds, so also significantly heavier than the D range KM2s.

The 35x12.5x18 Trails feel to be around 80, maybe a little more. I know with the rim it was a work-out to get them in my truck bed. But they look great and have decent handling on-road. Not too loud but you will notice a noise difference when switching from your Terras. They also give a stiffer ride due to the rugged side-wall.

Nitto Mud Grapplers = louder than Trail Grapplers, more exspensive, lower miles (per tires), and don't really handle anything besides mud very well (with the right amount of tread)

Nitto Trail Grapplers= higher miles (per tire), less noise (almost quiet ), great handling in every terrian/condition; snow, mud, gravel, water/rain, etc. Oh, and they're cheaper, depending on where you buy them of course.

PS: Get Nitto Trail Grapplers.

Hmmm lighter you say? I definitely like the sound of that. Now to decide between the trail grapplers and the KM2. How is it possible though that the KM2 are so much lighter? Do they have different ratings or something?
