Default New windshield

I'm not sure weather to put this here or in the off topic section.

Anywhore, I NEED a new windshield.

New windshield-image-3478413580.jpg

This is what I look through every morning for the first 10-15 minutes. After washing fluid and wiping constantly.

I have a pretty nasty chip below the mirror. And it's pitted pretty bad across the whole thing.

I want to get some window tint before summer hits full force. And want a new windshield.

Will insurance replace this??? If not, what does it take to get them too??

I had a star chip repaired on mine and the guy told me about $300 to replace it. He also said if your truck has the F-150 logo on front of the mirror, you're looking at about $500.

Most the time its free in FL. I got a chip in my windshield from before I had the truck, the dealership just said to hit it with a hammer to make sure the damage is more than 6" across if i want to get it fixed. They said I could get it repaired right now, but I may as well get a new windshield cause itd cost insurance the same and me nothing either way.

Just remember insurance may cover it but if your deductable is more than the window you would probably be better off just paying out of pocket.

Also remember it's a claim against your insurance and most insurance companies will raise your rates after two claims within a year. This happened to me once and now I just pay to get it replaced. Shop around, you should be able to get it taken care of for around $200 if you shop around.
