This is the new "normal"!
According to my dealer, the following items are normal on a 2018 F150 screw 6.5 5.0 4WD:
1: Loud, repeated banging, noise when taking it out of park, and in 4WL. (listen to audio of attached video) Very loud bang bang bang bang bang!!! Yes, it was shifted into 4WL in neutral, correctly, and no there was no turning on pavement. Attached video was taken at a boat launch where, in many other trucks since the freakin 70s, I use 4WL to pull boats out because it is gravelly at the bottom and I like the slow crawl due to the rough surface that the trailer is on until it gets out. I often will stop halfway out to check trailer /boat alignment; to do this I put it in 'park' for safety. Dealer tells me I cannot do that; that I have to shift to neutral, out of 4WL, into 2WH, then park. Then reverse the process when I want to move forward the next 10 feet. This is "normal".
2: Transmission slips/bangs into gear when coming from reverse (such as a 3-point turn), or after an auto-stop event where I put it into park to wait for traffic to move again. This is "normal".
3: Trailer hitch at about a 15 degree slant from the plane of the frame. See attached picture. It is so bad that the front of the trailer tongue makes contact with the hitch stinger. Again, this is "normal"

On the 4WL / park issue, they said they did duplicate it, but when I was there they "didn't have the same vehicle there anymore" (5.0 4wd). On the transmission issue, they say they cannot duplicate it. It happens to me about once/twice a day (in 2-3 hours driving). The trailer hitch issue they just say they have inspected it and welds are good, everything connected, looks fine. Some trucks on the lot have that slant- not as extreme- some don't. The dealer is not going to help me- I am going direct to Ford. Just thought owners might want to know about this stuff -especially the statement that you cannot put a 5.0L into park when you are in 4WL. Its not in the manual, but the dealer claims it is true.

The hitch should be level not slanted. It doesn't look installed correctly to me. You need to find another dealer.

The hitch is normal, sometimes they're bad like that, sometimes they're almost straight. Maybe you can find a dealer that will change it for you but there are several threads about this...infuriating when I learned that.

If Ford thinks that hitch is normal, they clearly don't know what normal is. It puts the ball in the wrong angle for goodness sakes. That hitch is clearly not mounted correctly, I don't give a damn what Ford says.

It ain't Ford, it's the idiots at the dealer. Ford does not sell vehicles to the public and I agree that hitch is mounted wrong.
