New motor install now won’t run need help
I have a 2014 F150 5.0 that I had a misfire show up on #4 cylinder. Through multipule parts changed to try and fix the problem and come to find out the valves on that cylinder were shot! After decision I chose to find another motor to put in the truck. Got the motor from a online dealer and now have put the motor in. Apon install noticed the VCT sensors on the newer motor wouldn’t hook up to the connectors on my truck so I swapped the ones off my old motor to the newer one. (Didn’t think that was a problem). Anyways completed install. Now the motor is not wanting to run right. Acts like it wants to fall on its face at startup and idle, shift points arnt right either. I removed the battery cables hooked them together to drain the diodes in the pcm to see if that would help and to relearn the throttle body thinking the throttle body wasn’t calibrated to the new motor yet! After doing so that seemed to clear it up ran with not problems purred like a kitten took it for a test ride and rode it normal then hard and no problems! Then get it back home for it to want to stall out and fall on its face again! Check engine light came on and threw multipule codes from random misfire , to every cylinder misfire but 2 O2 sensor codes! I’m at a loss now. Could this be something that the PCM isn’t aligned with the new motor? Would a reflash help? Is it the VCT sensors I used from my old motor the the problem?
