Hello i am new to this site and would like the share my "Ford experience".
I fell in love with the f150 ecoboost truck after watching the ecoboost challenge videos numerous times.
I bought a new 2011 f150 Fx4 ecoboost from the factory and waited a month and a half for delivery (was expected with the high demand at the time)
Was very pleased with the truck for the first 8,500 km besides the terrible gas mileage.. loved the power and towing capability .. but the stereo sucked for a $52,000 vehicle.
was driving my truck with no load or anything on a colder day when the engine started making a loud squealing noise ,, i anticipated the sound to go away when the truck warmed up more but it just got worse.. had a loss in power and even worse fuel economy... i kept driving the truck for another 1000 km until i could get it into the ford dealership.
Despite the truck making the loud noise from the engine it seemed to still drive normally ... until we had a big snowfall and i had to use 4x4. while driving around in 4x4 i was pulling into a store at 4 km and hit the brakes to stop in a parking spot.. the brakes were not able to retard the motor and kept going into the abs fluttering the pedal mode the truck kept going forward until i smashed into the metal poles in front of the building .. IM LUCKY NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF MY TRUCK OR THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!!
So after that incident i called and got my truck in immediately as it was no longer safe to drive since the brakes would be overpowered by the motor and it would not stop in a predictable manner.
Now here’s where all the problems I was having come together .. I will make a list and try not to miss any
- Airbag light was coming on and off before hitting building

- On my ford screen on start-up it kept saying "service advance trac"

- Loud squealing and loss of power and terrible gas mileage from motor

- Passenger speaker cracking

- Driver window squealed when moving up or down

- Sync was totally useless and kept glitching up and kicking me out back to the radio when i was giving it commands would not connect to phones

-Cover falling off below the motor (tranny cover?? not sure)

-Truck would shock you and passengers when exiting the vehicle

So once the truck was in the shop they assured me it would only be a couple days and got me a rental car .. a ford FIESTA.
So after looking over my truck they replaced the blown speaker, oiled the driver’s side window, reprogrammed my syc, redid the front end abs and traction control system.. But they could not figure out how to fix the loud noise from the engine
They ended up replacing both turbo’s on the truck and said there was some play in them and that could have caused the noise... but the noise still prevailed ... so after my truck being in the shop for 2 MONTHS they said they were sending in some specialists from ford and it would be resolved ASAP.
Well another month later and they are still "working" on my truck and my service technician said the specialists have not gotten back to her with a definitive answer as to what they are doing with my vehicle .. the new problem is that my tranny apparently needed replacing or something and it was leaking .... WOW it never ends
So after waiting this amount of time over 3 months and i told the service technician that they should be liable to fix my front bumper as it was their faulty abs brakes that needed replacing which is why i couldn’t stop in the first place.. Her response was that "FORD" is not liable for faulty equipment and that it was an issue i would have to take care of through my insurance!
So up to this point I have no idea what to do or where to go so i am actively telling everyone my story and making sure people know what i went through so hopefully they can avoid it. At this point i feel that they are using my truck as a guinnea pig and was told that "lots of people in our shop are learning lots fixing all the problems on your truck"..... Well isn’t that just great ... i have since upgraded my rental to a FORD Flex which is a huge upgrade from the FIESTA
any suggestions would be helpful
