Default New Engine... Upgradr

It appears that my 2008 f150 lariat (5.4) needs a new engine. I’m thinking that since it needs a new engine, maybe I should upgrade it to something better/bigger.

Are there any swaps on the easier side, more bolt in, plug and play style?

I use this truck for towing a race car on an open trailer and a 20ft camper.

Why would you say that? The 5.4 doesn’t seem to have the power. Maybe the engine was just that tired?

There's no easy replacement for the 5.4, if you want more power, put a reman engine in and supercharge it. Chenging to a different engine would require a significant investment of time and money, as the replacement would need a new ECU, but the ECU also works with the truck itself for options, etc.

Going beyond that option, might as well just buy a new truck.

What would be a good super charger set up? Is there a factory one?

Lincoln Navigator 5.4L 4V engine
GT-500 5.4L 4V S/C engine
getting the truck computer and electronics to work would be a project, but it should be doable.

The reason you're kind of stuck with the 5.4 is because anything else really isn't practical.

I’m finding that.

I thought that the 07 Harley edition was a supercharged truck. If it is I could just take that set up

I wonder if a 4.6 2V harness could be made to work with the 5.4 2V Supercharged Lightning/Harley Engine...

Did you ever put a good aftermarket tune in the 5.4? The PCM is programmed for a pretty slow opening rate. With a good aftermarket tune (not the standard SCT canned tune) it goes from barely squealing the tires to blowing the tires clean off with a stab of throttle. People think it's slow when in reality the TB isn't open all the way yet.

Thanks. Can you elaborate a little on the tuning? It is 100% stock right now. Is the stock ECU re programmable or do I need a piggy back
