New 2018 F150 Christmas present

So my 1997 XLT F150 with 74121 miles on it is no longer parked in my driveway. I picked up a new 2018 F150 XLT FX4 Off Road in the New Blue Jeans with 302A package and other goodies. Have a learning curve to do with this one. I do have one question, what exactly does the Ford Perimeter Alarm do? I do need a good alarm but I can't find any information one what this one really protects against and how. Anyone have any experience with the 2018 Ford Perimeter Alarm?

Looks great !!
I also picked up a new 2018 SC Lariet in Silver for Christmas this year, I learn something new everyday !
As I understand, the Parimeter alarm will only activate door alarms etc... the other option include all sensors and these include the 4 (light bulb looking sensors on the overhead console) The way it was explained to me was that if you were to pull into a convenience store and your windows are down and assuming you locked it, these sensors will pick up movement for someone reaching in the car to take something.

Enjoy the truck!

Sorry If i was not clear, It does have an alarm. Its called the Advanced Security Pack on your window sticker (under Safety/Security) and when locked the sensors are activated.

Ok, Thanks. I am trying to find out what the alarm does do, like motion if someone climbs into the bed. Not much info from any Ford manual or website that I can find.

Isn't the learning curve fun? Going from my '02 Super Duty to my '12 F150 Lariat was like entering a whole new world!

LOL. Going from a 1997 F150 to this one is HUGE. Start/Stop Tech is cool but I hate turning it off every time I start it up. I am learning though. I am kind of pissed that for this price and package that it doesn't have MEMORY for Driver 1/2. I really need to order a pizza and spend a evening in it with my wife so we can learn everything it does.

Check your Owner's manual - page 80 in mine discusses the Anti-Theft Alarm operation. Factory does not include exterior "vibration/motion" events. Congrats on the new wheels - as stated before, you've made a huge leap in technology! I had a 1997 before my 2011...loved that truck!
