Hey guys,



I've been on this forum since 2009, mainly just reading and applying the info to my 2006 F-150. But wanted to share a few pic of a new truck I got over the weekend and ask some questions. Coming from a 5.4 Titan V8, I'm very surprised at how powerful and solid the 2.7L is. Please let me know your thoughts on any of the following:



*Has anybody ever replaced the factory speakers?

*Does anyone have experience with installing the Halo headlights (http://www.stage3motorsports.com/111...-Housings.html)


*How hard is it to add a rear view camera to Sync 3?

*Is it really worth putting exhaust on a 2.7L V6

Good looking truck! Always liked the STX package, I had an 05 STX 4x4 (4.6 2V), looking back I wish I had kept that truck.

Wow that's clean, I love it! I like to keep my vehicles clean so I'm not sure I could ever own black, but man it sure does look the best. As far as your questions, I can't answer any of them except to give you my opinion on the last one. I wouldn't put an exhaust on your truck, it'll sound horrible in my opinion. Even if it did give you any performance increase, I doubt you'd notice it. But I'm an old school v8 muscle car lover so I'm biased haha.

That's a sweet truck, congrats! I've always had a soft spot for black vehicles. Have you discovered/used sport mode yet? Still makes me smile every time I use it.

is the 8" screen an option or standard in that STX package?

I think it comes standard with stx appearance package.

Bought the same truck two months ago. You're going to love it. Driving to and from work is still my favorite part of the day. :-)

I also purchased this very same truck about 3 weeks ago. Love it. I had to decide between the black or the charcoal grey and I went with the black. Looks soooo good when clean.

One thing I noticed was no running boards. Mine came with them and I was under the impression it was part of the STX package. I may be wrong.

I also have asked the question about the exhaust on the 2.7L and was told the idle sounds decent but the drive is more of a bumblebee than a badass. I am sure there are some you tube videos out there to help you decide.

Also, you question the rear view camera. Does your truck not already have the camera installed? I know mine has the camera but it does not have the sensors on the bumper that beep when you get close to something.
