Negative Dealer Purchase Experience

I think possibly the sales manager was just trying to give a new guy a sale referral, and see how he performed. I would expect the sales manager, had someone acting for him yesterday, and I know the owner will be discussing the situation with his team tomorrow. All I am expecting at this point is my deposit refund, so I can move on, as quickly as possible.

Now if they want to discount the truck a few thousand below what it's worth just to move it because it's got the wrong options and you can live with that then go for it. However, my experience is if it doesn't have what you want you'll hate it over time. Not to mention the entire purchase experience has been ruined from this point on. Every time you drive the truck or someone asks about it, you'll have to tell them this story...
If they aren't bending over backwards to fix the situation to YOUR liking, then just piece out. Sounds to me like walking is the only thing that will change this rookies attitude.

I find this problem is getting worse and worse with these salesmen. They barely have to put any work in these days to sell vehicles, a lot of people walk in and barely negotiate for a better price. Not to mention vehicles like the F150 usually have a loyal customer base and pretty much sell themselves. The salesmen would rather not go through the hassle when he can sell the truck to someone else at a better price and make more $$$.
I have a salesman that I trust and he'll be getting my business until he gives me a reason not to, which I highly doubt will happen.
Find yourself another salesman, even if it's at the same dealership.

I don't want to disclose the dealer name at this time. Better to see what the owner says on Monday. They have an excellent service department, and have used them to service my truck multiple times. I did get a copy of the deal sheet, although the salesman refused to give me this at first. He also did not respond to earlier requests for a copy of the vehicle order/preview order, and did not want to give me that today. When I pointed out that a major option was not on the truck he responded, it does't matter. Very unprofessional!

Assuming they do, I would buy from them and follow up with the first dealer's ownership once I had the vehicle, explaining how they lost my business.
Maybe a call to the BBB about the rebates/incentives, but don't expect much on that front.

Too many people think the BBB is a government entity. Or some entity with power. They've none unless you count the power to blackmail. Especially in the age of Facebook, Yelp, Google, Tripadvisor, etc where you feedback is in front of a huge public audience....at the cost of nothing.

Not sure where you are in TN. I am 45 miles south west of Knoxville. One Knoxville dealer shot me an e-mail with a deal on a truck I was looking for. Once I got there in person, he was 4K higher on his truck than the e-mail, and 2K lower on my trade than the e-mail. I walked right away. Got many phone calls and each time I said you blew it the first time, not waisting my time again.
Another dealer 20 miles or so out of Knoxville sent me an email they could order what I wanted. So I sent them exactly what I wanted built, and what my trade was. Sent it to another dealer also. Well the first dealer came back with a great price and the second a very good price.
When to the first, again 2k less for my trade than they said in e-mail. And all kinds of add on fees and crap on new truck brining it to 3K more than they said. Walked and went to the 2nd dealer. Right away they told me they would order it for what they told me in E-mail. They wanted used truck manager to drive my truck as they thought it might be worth more. Well, they came back and it was.
I asked what I needed for a deposit to order my truck. I was told a hand shake was good enough. five day later they e-mailed me my order number and in 10 days I had a vin. When the truck came in the deal went as promised. They beat the other Ford dealers by several thousand dollars and it was a very pleasant experience.
I recommend Matt at Jackie Jones Ford in Swee****er TN.
