Need some help from tire/wheel experts.
OK Im having a hard time with all the numbers.
So right now I have stock rims the sorry looking ones with the hubcaps.
They have good tires on them with Lots of tread left and I dont want to just trash them. There 265/70/17s Hankook Dynapro AT-M
So I would like to use my current tires on some new rims. Id like to buy and then put bigger tires on later. I thought Id have to get a set of 18s to fill up the wheel well but after seeing the Raptor 17s tires on I think I can stick with 17s. I not 100% on that but I think the 17s will be ok.
What is confusing me is I truly have no idea what off set I need. And dont quite understand the math. Id like the to stick out a little not to much inch to 2 inchs maybe but not sure about numbers.
Here are a pair of rims I like they come in +12 and -12
So can I use my current tires on these rims and later when I need new tires put on a bigger tires like a 305/75/17s?
I like these rims pretty well there not too expensive and they say USA on them to go with my USA themed Truck.
Thank you in advance for all your help.

My wheels are 18x9 -12 offset and stick out about 2", factory wheels are +44, the closer you get to zero and into negative #'s the farther out they will stick.
If you plan to install a lift kit any time 18" is the minimum size you can go to, 17's won't work.
Tires are 35x12.50x18 and I am running a 4" lift kit on a 2wd, 4x4's sit approx. 2" higher.
P.S. The offset #"s are in mm.

Thanks for that Rnlcomp. I plan on doing a 2inch level and thats about it. So by my thinking +12 would put me out past tires aobut an inch and -12 would put me out about 2 inches. Does that sound right? And I could put my now 265/70'17s on those rims and get bigger tires later?

For a more detailed answer, you would have to contact the lift manufacturer.
Below is the oem knuckle next to the lift knuckle.
