Default Need ideas to protect interior door from pet scratches...

We put dog booster seats in the back seat of our 2016 XLT SuperCrew so our maltese poodles can see out the windows. Naturally, they like to stand with their back feet in the booster seat and their from feet on the top of the door panel, right next to the glass. Last car got pretty scratched up.

Only thing I've been able to come up with is to put a 4-inch strip of vinyl from the curve up to the glass. But will it leave residue when removed?

It's an odd problem to solve but there's got to be something I can cut and adhere to the textured plastic (?) door panel. Need some creative ideas.

I would be looking at 1/2" velcro strip with self adhesive to go along just inside the window attaching a piece of heavy, decorative cloth that could hang down as far as you wish.
If and when you decide to remove the velcro strip, the adhesive left behind can be removed with GoofOff or similar product.

I'm going to follow this. My boxers are crazy and love looking out the window. It's driving me crazy!

If you roll the window all the way down you could try a magnetic iron mat. I'm assuming it would stick to the side of the truck and then hang down inside. The question is just how strong the magnet it.

Would not stick to OP's aluminium truck.

But this door guard seems promising

While you're shopping Amazon, take a look at the pet hammocks also. They make life safer for the animals and keep your vehicle like new.

That door guard seems worth trying.
