Default Need 5.4 3 valve engine

I had a shop do a timing job on my 2006 f150 Lariat 5.4 3 valve with eighth VIN digit 5 and it still makes noise. He says the oil pathways are blocked and I need an engine.
Anyone have a recommendation? Looking for an engine tested under 75k miles or so.
Thanks
Bruce

did they drop pan as part of their work? assuming the didn’t, you may want to try dropping pan, cleaning pan and pickup, then do an engine flush and change oil again with 5w30 and good filter. id certainly do that if you’ve already invested in a timing job.

did you determine which parts they used in their job?

Pan was dropped and pickup cleaned as part of replacing the oil pump.

Did the mechanic prime the oil pump ??

Find it odd how the pickup tube was cleared and yet the oil passages are blocked.

Based on below, someone didnt do a very detailed job.

Blocked oil passages in a Ford 5.4L 3V engine are frequently caused by sludge, wear debris from the timing chain guides, or using the wrong oil filter, leading to issues like low oil pressure and cam phaser problems. To address this, you should inspect the oil pan for plastic debris, clean or replace clogged orifices, and use the correct oil filter, often recommending the Motorcraft FL820S.

Originally I did the timing job. Bank 1 black guide was destroyed. There were a lot of pieces in the oil pan and the pickup screen was nearly clogged. No I didn't prime the oil pump but I don't think that's the problem After the mechanic re-did the timing which was only off one tooth and ran it, still made the noise. When he took bank 1 valve cover off again he said the top end looked like it wasn't getting oil, i.e. blocked oil pathways. He also said it's unlikely a rebuild would clear all the passages.

I didn't see any sludge. Always used correct oil and filters. Also replaced the VVT's and the cam phasers.

I brought it to him after I did the timing job and bank one was still loud like before I did the timing job. It would barely run then due. I had it towed to his shop so, no he didn't do anything wrong. No one I can find wants to rebuild it which is why I am looking for a replacement

opinions vary, but it would have to be a really special 06 f150 for me to invest in a reman for it. or even a engine swap (unless maybe you’re doing labor yourself). but since you apparently have nothing to lose at this point, i would thoroughly explore engine flushing and the. upping oil weight and see if conditions change.

What would engine flushing do for clogged oil pathways?
I can only get $700 for it as is and cannot afford to buy another one for cash or on terms. Thanks for your advice.
