It's over if you buy a new truck, but not if you buy an older used one.
The EcoBoost is still a sophisticated, over complicated engine that costs more despite getting less fuel economy
Not all Ecoboosts get bad fuel mileage, the OP averaged 20.9 MPGs on a trip and my lifetime average is 17.3 with 34.5" mud terrains
and has more parts to fail over time.
You know what they say about opinions.
And there continue to be TSBs coming out on the 3.5TT annually.
Really...I've owned an Ecoboost since early 2011 and have never been back to the dealer or had any TSBs performed in over 5 years.

And why is it that every time somebody points this out, they're a "hater"?
Usually because they they act like the 5.0 hasn't had any issues and the Ecoboost is extremely troublesome.
If I said the sky is blue, and I like it better when it's cloudy, is that hating also? See, I thought it was just stating it like it is. Guess that's not allowed.
Anyway, if loss of power and loss of brakes is not a big deal to you guys, more power to ya'. Hopefully the OP gets through all these issues. Many times, guys go into these trucks not having any idea what they're getting into and that really sucks.
...and replacing knocking, ticking, oil consuming shortblocks isn't a big deal to some people either. But in reality...about 98% of 5.0s and Ecos have no issues in the real world, but on internet forums they both seem troublesome.

Only he would get that twisted. No rational thinking person would read that post and get so defensive that they have bash the 5.0 straight out of nowhere which has absolutely nothing to do with the thread topic.
