Default My first real road trip in the F-150 today

I have taken it on a few 500 mile round trips but this one is going to be 2000 miles. My wife, daughter, parents and me are going from Southwest Missouri to just north of Denver Colorado. My truck is a 2013 SCREW 4x4 5.0 3.55's with right at 32k miles on it. I am still running the stock Pirelli's. On my couple of 500 mile round trips I have averaged right around 15.5mpg thanks to the 75mph speed limits. I normally get just under 17mpg on my 100 mile daily commute to work so I just hoping to be in the 15's somewhere for this trip. I will know tonight what it's going to be on the way out because we are making the 12 hour trip straight through today and hopefully with minimal bloodshed from taking the whole family.

That's a long drive, but I've done long hauls of 12 hours+ in my truck and it's very comfortable - at least up front in my King Ranch.

Enjoy the trip and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Safe travels!

I drove my 2012 Screw 4x4 with 3.55 rear end from Ohio to Alaska and back. Four passengers and a lot of stuff in the back. 9600 mile round trip. Most comfortable vehicle I have ever driven on a long trip. It was an Ecoboost and averaged over 19 mpg on the trip.

I'd be more worried about spending this much time in a confined space with the whole family than anything about the truck

Well the first leg of our trip is done. By far the most comfortable long trip I have been on in a vehicle. About 75% of the trip across Kansas on I70 was crazy windy but I was still happy with the overall fuel mileage.

Kevin, I've been on I-70 with those head, and cross winds. I'm surprised you averaged that much. Have a safe trip brother. Happy Thanksgiving.

Default 2013 f150

I have a 2013 Super Crew 4x4 5.0 with the 6.5' bed. I drove from SC to Maine this pass August and I average 18.0 running around 75 and sitting on traffic in DC. I was very impressed.

I have only gotten that kind of fuel mileage on one or two tanks over 32k miles in my truck and I spend 90% of my time on divided highways running 68mph. I don't know how you guys are doing it. The only modifications my truck has is a Borla muffler and Airraid dry filter.
