Default Mounting a radar detector

Have a 2016 lariat. I want to stay away from the suction cups. Any ideas?

Of course someone else has used something other than suction mount. What are you asking about? A visor clip? Or do you want something more-permanent? Does your truck already have something attached above the windshield?

What radar detector do you have/want? The one in that pic had grooves in the sides for a generic mount, but my current one has an entirely different mounting system. Some are remote-mounted with a dash display. YOU have to tell us before we can tell you.

I use the visor clip on my V1 to clip it to the headliner right in front of the light control buttons.

I bought a "permanent" mount on Ebay (which is just a 3M sticker on bent metal) that looks just like the last pic in post 13 here. Not my truck, but setup looks exactly the same (I also have the Uniden R3). I like it quite a bit more than the suction cups, it's not nearly as obtrusive. Noone knows I even have it installed until it goes off, and it's quite difficult to notice from outside the truck.

I know Im hijacking but................what do people find is a good radar detector...thinking about it as NYS troopers on way home all the time but not sure what is good these days or if they even work. read article that they dont work anymore like used to explained that they now just tell you when Nailed or what not. Im not as versed with them as used to be......
I Think I may benefit from one?? tell me what you got and do they really work anymore...I assume you all are well versed and if you have em they must work!!!

thanks

They can work just depends on how the officer is using it.

With speed limits as high as they are, at least here, I rarely find myself speeding and have written tickets to so many people with them I find them pretty useless.

I picked up a mount similar to blend mount. It's worked very well for 2 years I've had it.
