Mileage at Factory?

Just picked up my F150 several days ago. I was tracking it on Cotus and was at the dealer the same day the truck was delivered. To my surprise the odometer showed 89 miles and the hour meter showed 4 hours. Dealer said it wasn't uncommon and was done at the factory. Comments and thoughts please.

I would have rather they not driven it. It was a customer ordered vehicle. If you want to test for QC take a dealer inventory vehicle. You just never know how they drove it. It's not theirs and not concerned about it. And if they were testing for rattles etc. that means they had to put it through some rough terrain. I'm not happy about it. Plus the motor had four hours on it. It doesn't take four hours to drive 89 miles. That means it sat for extended periods of time just idling somewhere. I'm very particular about my vehicles and would have preferred I did my OWN QC in a manner that I approve of for the first miles.
It did have a sticker on the drivers side truck bed window that indicated it was a special order retail delivery. I did not notice any other stickers that indicated it was used for QC testing. But I wasn't looking for one either. Just seems like 89 miles is an awful lot for QC testing.

89 miles ÷ 4 hours = The nice old lady in human resources took it out for a little spin....

My truck had 3 miles on it. I'm actually surprised they loaded it on a truck rather than drive it the 20 miles from the Dearborn Assembly to my dealership.

OPer, trust me, when you pile on a few thousand miles you'll forget all about that delivery mileage.
If this were a perfect world, yeah it would be great if zero miles were on the odometer when a truck is delivered.
In most cases, not realistic IMO.
My dealer located a new '16 with all the options i wanted clear across the State.
It had over 60+ miles on it when i picked it up.
So what, no big deal and saved a lot of money with Ford incentives too.
Now i've got 14,000+ miles on my truck and those 60+ initial odometer miles were a long forgotten issue...that is until i read this thread! lol

You can rest easy knowing that YOUR truck was tested more than anyone else's on that line.
