Default Michelin LTX A/T2 or BF Goodrich A/T KO2

I have to get new tires in the next few weeks and want a few opinions from people who use them and know how they perform in different conditions.

Currently i have Michelin M/S2 and am pretty happy with them except for the treadlife. I also wish they looked a little more aggressive. I like the ride of Michelin's M/S2 and the traction in different conditions has been good as well. The seem to slip more than they should in the mud and loose dirt.

I live in Colorado and drive in snow & ice a quarter of the year and also need tires that can handle the off-road and muddy fields when I hunt. I have been partial to Michelin in the past but havent had an A/T tire on my truck and have no problem looking at BF Goodrich as well.

I have heard good things about the Michelin A/T2 but also about the new KO2. The one thing i have heard about the KO2s that i dont like is they dont shed snow well when the tread gets packed and you lose traction. I also dont know the treadlife expectations on either.

I know that can be quite an opinionated conversation, but What are your thoughts on the Michelin A/T2s and BF Goodrich KO2s and how they perform overall in different conditions?

I voted for KO2's solely on looks. The LTX's are so unaggressive looking, they don't even look like an A/T to me.

I have the Michelin AT2's. They are horrible in snow! Go with the,BFGs.

They are pricey, but definitely the bfgs.

Michelin LTX A/T2 tires were the highest mileage and best riding tire I've ever had on an F150.

I went from AT2's to BFGs on my last truck. Big difference. The AT2 is 'barely' an AT tire IMO. BFGs were better in snow and off-road. Also noisier and dropped my mpg a bit. I got about 40,000 miles out of them (on a 2500 diesel, though).

The KO2's have been out less than 6 months. I have them on my 96 and love them. They ride better and are quieter than the original, but there's no long term data about them. I say go BFG.

My LTX i have right now after 3yrs 20k miles(mind you its a 60k tire) They are dry rotting to crap already. Tons of cracks all over. (my trucks my daily but i only live like 10miles from work)

I'm going to pick up the ko2s soon and drop these ltx. Going in tomorrow to have them look at trans leak and check the tires over.

That's odd. The Michelin LTX A/T2 I put 58,000 miles on had lots of tread left and absolutely no cracks or dry rotting in 5 years. You think the salt that's used on the roads up there could contribute to that?

There is always the chance but, I had some Grabber AT 2 on my ranger that i had for 4years never an issue with dry rot or cracks on those.

So not really sure what the issue is with these ones.
