DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford has added a new offering to its F-Series lineup — the 2005 F-150 Lobo edition, designed to appeal to the growing Latino market.
The F-150 Lobo, which means "wolf" in Spanish, is based on the STX series.
It includes several unique design elements, including Lobo embroidered floor mats, Lobo badging and a monochromatic exterior. It comes only in bright red. Base price for the Lobo STX 4x2 SuperCab starts at $27,150, including a $795 destination charge.
Ford said the truck was unveiled in time for Cinco de Mayo ("Fifth of May"), a traditional Mexican holiday celebrating a victory in battle over Napoleon's invading army. Latino singer Pablo Montero will be part of the Lobo's advertising campaign.
"The F-150 is the No.1 truck sold in the Latino market, so it's only fitting that Ford develop this truck exclusively for this segment," said Doug Scott, Ford truck group marketing manager in a statement.
What this means to you: With the F-150 Lobo, Ford seeks to cement its relationship with the Latino community, which has made the F-Series the best-selling truck in the U.S. Hispanic market since 1996.

All F-150 in mexico are called LOBO. Thats what they are called. Alot of Spanish speaking mexicans call my truck LOBO.

Thats what I was saying...When i was in Mexico last year all of the F150s said LOBO on them....but the comment rolling thunder posted stated that they only made the LOBO in the STX model and it only came in the red option.......

Thats the limited one from here. But in Mexico they even have billboard ads that advertise it and there is even spanish songs that talk about the LOBO truck.
