Any time matt, I have the aFe and I like the added noise so I guess it's to each, his own. The SCT was more than noticalbe on the first drive. It's the best bang for your buck by far. And if you want later down the road you can get a custom tune. There are a few guys on here that have great feed back like 5star and MPT.
Good luck down the road with what ever you decide!

I guess I should be more clear as I like the air sound but I am hearing a lot of thumbing sounds and not sure why? I'm going to put my factory air box back on and see if I hear the "thump" anymore and if not I'm sending it back as maybe something is wrong?

You talking about a "thumping" when you let off the gas?

Yes it is a thumping sound when I let off the gas and sometimes a thumping sound which sounds like its right below the cab? It is very annoying and not worth it as Is rather just put a K&N filter in the factory air box and add a SCT tuner!

Sounds like a turbo fart 6.0s did that from the factory. And the noise comes out of the airbox.

And please get rid of the k + n they might be good for N/A engines but not for turbos. I came from the powerstroke world before this and i have had first hand issues running them and dusting turbos. They are frowned upon to run on a boosted engine. I will only run AFE it kept my turbo clean and shiny.

Just to give you a heads up. Would hate to hurt a eco.

Back to the original thread, look into the heart throb exhaust for the Eco, some pretty impressive gains.

Derek is right, I have heard a lot of bad things about K&N in recent years. The thumping your hearing is the by pass valves dumping the compressed air back into the intake system. It almost sounds like a blow off valve. My GF says my truck fluffs and laughs about it lol.

I don't think you noticed but the OP is the one we are talking to and he is scrapping the exhaust for now and buying a tuner. Furthermore Heartthrob was caught blowing smoke up our ***** about those "gains". Their kits have been proven to not produce that much HP or TQ and it has been discussed many times on this forum. Most of these exhausts will come with pretty much the same gains because they all are flowing about the same. It comes down to the sound for most and Heartthrob sounds decent but the SOLO sounds better IMO.

Thanks for all the advice from everyone. I actually sent the K&N intake back and put the stock air box with an upgraded filter. I have decided not to buy an exhaust until I research it a little more as I would like a little more of a beefy sound. However, I did order a SCT tuner so I'm going to start there and then get a level kit with 33's.

I think you'll be more than happy with the tuner. If you wait till the new year Stainless Works has been working on an Exhaust that should sound pretty good.
