Are you referring to the normal whistling noise that the ecoboost engines make due to the electronic boost controllers bleeding pressure? This is a common sound on twin turbo or twin scroll turbo engines.

I don’t think this is the issue due to the fact it is happening under light acceleration cruising on the highway which is low boost so why would it bleed pressure? And I thought these trucks have recirculating valves and not some sort of blow off valve. I’m pretty sure the electronic boost controller you are talking about controls the wastegate which would make no noise when reducing turbo operation. Correct?

My truck is doing the same thing. 2017 eco 3.5

Did you ever discover the culprit of the noise?

My last Silverado police truck had hand-crank windows. If the passenger window was not completely closed (rolled-up tight) you would get a LOUD whistle when you hit 65+ mph.

Running down a bumpy road would cause the window to slip down, just enough to start the sound.

Took me a while to figure out where the shrill scream/whistle was coming from.

Just sayin......

after searching the forums I ended up replacing my IWE check valve and that solved my problem. I only heard mine at highway speeds under load. After hours or searching the forums and YouTube this 22 dollar part at my fold dealer solved the problem. Took 5 mins to replace with no tools required. I bought a 2nd one just to have for down the road if needed. I had a 200 mile trip today after the repair and the ride was quiet the entire trip. My truck is a 2017 platinum 3.5 with 63k miles. It has a 2 inch level on 275/65/20 BFG K02 tires.

Here is the YouTube link to the video that helped me. Good luck and hope this helps.

Default Whistling Noise

I just purchased a 2019 F-150 XLT, 2.7 eco-boost. At 45mph and above it starts whistling. Seems to be coming from passenger side near windshield. Below 45 mph it disappears.

2019 F-150 XLT, 2.7 eco-boost, Magnetic, No mods done yet. 1200 miles on truck
