Default Loud clanking noise when accelerating!!

First off thanks for anyone taking the time to read and reply with help. I have a 2000 F150 automatic, and I have a loud clanking noise when I accelerate sometimes, alot of times actually. And along with tht while going 0 to 20mph I have a serious rattle alot of times! The clanking will even happen while letting off gas and reaccelerating at 50mph. Also when I put the*truck*in drive it has a loud noise also. I pulled a boat this weekend and it seems to have gotten worse!! any info is appreciated!! Thanks again!!!

I don't have a solution for you but my girlfriends 2000 does the exact same thing. At work we all drive E-150 an E-250s. The older models all get (what I like to call) "the famous Ford click". Happens upon acceleration. To me it sounds like the valves are sticking or something. Try getting an oil change and switching to synthetic

Ohhh. Check ur leaf springs. There is a bracket that holds them all together and prevents them from sliding out. Could be broken?

Bahaha the famous ford tick, it's from the exhaust manifold on the left side, which I have not found a way to get rid of. But I have replaced the manifold itself yet.
