Looking to buy Tuner

Canned tunes are better than stock but wouldn't justify the price of a tuner imho, custom tune is the only way to fly.

I had my BDX for a couple days before my Omega tune was ready so I loaded the canned 91 tune. It did have more power than stock I believe up in the high end, the shifts on general were a little more firm, but some of the shifts had me scratching my head to wtf just happened there. If there was no custom tune coming my way, I would have just sold it right there and went back to stock.
So recently, I brought my truck in for its first oil change at the dealer since the tune. I returned it to stock a few days before. ugh, talk about uninspired driving. Seemed to notice the change from tune to stock even more drastically. Would have tuned right in the dealer parking lot after the oil change if the SO wasn't with

It'll be hard to beat what I have but if it does it'll be $150 well spent.

Well I already have a X4 tuner. So I've got the SCT canned tunes. I just don't have them on my truck. Been using it on a Mustang, which I recently sold.
I'm thinking about loading some SCT tunes up to the truck to see what happens. I emailed them to ask if I can still use E85 fuel, which didn't get an answer. I also asked if the tow/haul mode will still work because I use that often, and didn't get an answer.

The only modifications I plan for my truck at this point in time is trading it in a few years from now. I got Raptor fever lol. I'm holding out until they bring a v8 back to the line up.

I doubt it'll take a week or 2 for me to know if I like it or not, I'll be able to tell pretty much from day 1. The part about not worrying what octane to buy is my main motivation for getting it. I have 5 five star tunes of varying octane rating for just in case I travel.

the next hundred was much better and the next. In all, I'd say it took about 500 miles to reach it's peak and it is much stronger than stock, and I get an extra 1mpg when I'm taking it easy.
Of course this is a 2016 model so there definitely could be some differences, YMMV
